reminiscing on the summer tour

we travelled 12 cities in 14 days, with our friends mckay. we started in chicago with a bang. a packed show with riddle m and tv buddah. it was at the dollhouse which is our friend sassy's awesome courtyard. shoutout sassy, she is the best. then we moved east to indianpolis and dayton, the heat was nearly unbearable. the ac was cranked to the max at all times. we played in a tiny book store in indianpolis a little kid was holding his ears shut, i dont think the crowd really like us haha. then in dayton with fellow nashvillians melania kol, the show went super late because it was a 5 band bill. i had like 7 bud lights, thanks max from mendelson's for letting us crash on his couch. next we set out for the drive to long island, we split it in to two days to make it easier to tackle. in a town callled harrisburg (i think) we stayed in a scottish inn. it ended up being much nicer than we thought. we went to a little diner that feeds the railroad workers and is open 24/7. ate a blt and dosed off as the boys play smash bros on a shitty little tv in the all plad, yellowish motel room. we awoke late and scrambled to leave before the check out time. as we rolled into long island we were greeted by a friend i met on the internet tom gallo. he showed us an awesome time. we played in a studio that he helped to design. we had a fantastic evening, he let us crash and gave us eggs in the morning. fueled by shear will power, we started the fucked up trek into new york city. as soon as you can see the nyc skyline drivers become insufferable. honking and flipping you off. tom said to watch out for bmws, as their drivers are especially mean. i think they noticed our tennessee plates and it made them freak.

we rolled up to the venue "berlin under a" that was underneath a little bar, we were all worried we werent going to sell enough tickets to cover the large production fee. but we were pleasantly suprised to be blessed with a pretty decent crowd. met an old friend on the subway and he came to the show, it was a pretty great night. we did karaoke at a bar in bushwick, me and levi smoked a bit of a joint and went non verbal for like 45 minutes. everyone we were with definitely thought we were weird as shit. the next morning i woke up to a horrible sore throat, which on any out of town show is the worst feeling ever, the feeling your about to get sick. i toughed it out and played hack n sack in central park. drank like 8 water bottles, and watched old ladies dance and sing at the john lennon memorial. i make sure to go there everytime im in nyc. then we checked out a museum and ate chinese food. the boys helped me film a video where i fell in the subway, daily dose of internet just asked me if they could use the clip lol. we then went out to yet another karaoke bar in china town, my friend josh butchered high and dry by radiohead and a bunch of people left. next day we left for the short drive to philadelphia. we were hoping we'd see alex g just walking on the street somewhere. we played with aldo fisk, who i really really love. his set was so good, and also just hilarious. really sweet guy as well. the sickness was really hitting at this point, so we opted out of our basement accommodations, and used the band fund to get another scottish inn. this one was way more gross although. took a shower in my brothers crocs. he also realized that a shampoo bottle exploded in his clothes bag, he had to move them to a trash bag haha. baltimore was next, it was another easy drive. the city didnt really blow me away, was greatful to play there tho, and the venue was really cool, also shoutout lean tee, they are dope. some old dude bought me and the levi's fireball shooters when we told him we were in a band. huge mistake to take them before we played, that show was rough. next was richmond, it was levi's birthday and we suprised him with an airbnb that my brother truman got for him. we had a good night. it was funny, the one night we all had good beds to sleep in we got really wasted and all slept in our jeans and on couches and shit lol.

we set out for asheville which was about 5 hours or so away. we got some mexican food and then headed towards the venue. once we got there we all chilled outside. the show was so awesome, we really had a blast. after getting cook out, levi carter and i started walking to the bar where we got approached by a homeless man that asked us for a cigarette. when we told him no he insisted that we were lying. he then hit levi in the face with a screwdriver in the jaw. i looked up from my phone to see what had happened but it was too late, he had reared back and clocked me right in the side of the chin. it didnt really hurt cause i was in so much shock. we ended up just running away. being in a fight with a screwdriver wielding junkie is a losing game. we met up with our homies at the bar and were consoled. caelan and mouse from tombstone poetry let us crash at their place. tomstone poetry just released a kick ass music video for their newest single check it out. mouse gave me some alcohol wipes for the cut on my face. the day im writing this i still have a fucked up bruise. i drank a few pbrs and got a horrible nights rest. in the morning my parents convinced me on the phone to go to urgent care. i was so worried that i had to get a tetanus shot, but to my surprise the doctor just gave me some cream to put on it. we rolled into atlanta really shook up, that whole day was a bit of a wash. major played with us and they are so sick. holden is also just the nicest guy. we decided to leave early and drive to stay in a cabin in monteagle tn. we were all home sick but it was really nice to sleep in a made up bed with clean sheets. the day was the last out of town show. a house show/party, with budge, finger foods, and i before e. it was a good hang, we sounded kinda fucked it was hard to hear anything but we did our best. we drove back that night and got pulled over for not stopping at a stop sign. lastly, we had the album release show in nashville. it was at the end. the turnout was incredible. i felt so much love from nashville and our community we are a part of. the tour was so fun, long, hard, funny, and adventurous. thank you everyone who came to the shows and thanks mckay. and levi, levi, and jackson. <333333333
